2. Not everyone's foot is 12 inches long therefore a standard customary measurement is needed.
5. If it is in the U.S. it should be miles because we use the customary measurement system and we are not going to change anytime soon.
9. I would not round the answer because it is true that some of your answers would not be as exact as you need them.
